New episodes of the X-files are due out in January next year. My warm nostalgic feelings occasionally get interrupted by reminders of how much Chris Carter managed to piss me off (I obsessively watched and rewatched every episode of the first three seasons, then went completely cold turkey and avoided any other episodes and the movie, although I did intermittently read recaps on Television Without Pity/Mighty Big TV), but the nostalgia is currently winning.
It's also nostalgia for my first on-line fandom - I started online fandom in alt.tv.x-files.creative, and spent many a happy and completely non-study related hour accessing various ftp sites for fic on the university computers. I think I finally ditched the floppy discs with all the downloaded fic about two moves back.
Hmm. Anyway. I think I will give the new series a go. And I've also been rewatching one of my favourite fanvids - X-Files, obviously, to Bob Dylan, by Lim and Tzikeh.Subterranean Homesick Blues.
