Ugh, I'm sorry, that sounds like a nightmare. I hope you get to do the walk some day (possibly with a better company)!
They've now offered me $500 credit towards another walk (about 25% of the cost) and I've said yes, but I'm still a bit indecisive. I definitely won't try and go this year - we're in another lock-down as of this morning for at least a week, and the vaccine program here has only just started.
