Fingers definitely crossed. I hadn't thought about An Unsuitable Heir, but you're right - I'd assumed it was all due to trying to drag one non-romance plot across three books, and having to then cram in everything at the end.
I have two historical f/f novels currently on the go (The Grass Widow and Alaskan Bride), and am fervently hoping for some emotional messiness.
