For a while I had a holiday job near the national library, which had an open-to-readers collection of pre 1950s children's books, and I would spend my lunch hour working through them

Oh, how cool!

I can't remember which book the Crown of Success was in, but I'm pretty sure it was something to do with Hilary Burn, that maybe it was her idea, so it must have been in one of the late Austria-set ones. I think maybe before the two schools get merged and the Saints have a stall and it's a book Joey hasn't read (!) so she doesn't know what it's about.

(I may have read CS too many times over the years.)
